Who we are

Pound the Rock Limited is a New Zealand company and the developer of Space Times Tables, an educational multiplication app for children, available for iPhone and Android. For privacy questions, email brendon@poundtherock.co.nz.

Space Times Tables: children's privacy

Space Times Tables is designed for children and families. The app does not require children or parents to register, sign in, provide an email address or share their location. It does not contain advertisements, behavioural advertising or social sharing features.

Information stored on your device

To make learning features work, the app stores information locally on the device, such as a child's chosen profile name, times-table assessment answers and performance, practice and game results, progress, settings, learning goals and rewards. Parents and children can choose a nickname rather than a real name. This information is used to personalise practice, show progress and remember settings. It is stored in the app's local storage, and is not intentionally uploaded by Pound the Rock to an account or learning-profile server as part of the released native app.

Local app data is not intended to identify a child outside the device. The operating system or device backup features may back up app data according to the family's device settings. The information stays on the device unless it is cleared, the app's storage is removed, or a device backup restores it.

Purchases and subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play, as applicable. The store handles payment information, subscription billing, and payment-card details under its own privacy practices. Pound the Rock does not receive your full payment-card details. The app uses purchase information returned by the store, such as a product identifier, subscription status and expiry information, to unlock Premium features and may keep a local record of that status. The relevant store may separately collect transaction, device and diagnostic information to operate its payment and distribution services.

Third-party services and data sharing

Space Times Tables uses the operating system and native store purchasing services to provide installation and optional purchases. We do not sell children's personal information or share their learning profiles with advertising networks. The released app does not intentionally use third-party advertising or analytics to track children. Apple and Google independently process information through their app stores and operating systems under their own policies. We may share information you provide to us directly if necessary to respond to a request, meet a legal obligation or protect our services.

Security, retention and deletion

Learning information is held in local app storage rather than a Pound the Rock account. We do not operate a central account containing a child's learning history. Access to data stored on a device depends in part on the device's security controls. You can delete local learning data by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app, subject to any operating-system backup and restore settings. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple or Google account; uninstalling the app does not itself cancel a subscription.

If you contact us by email, we use the information you provide only to respond and resolve your enquiry, and retain it only as reasonably needed for that purpose or to meet legal obligations. You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal information that we hold, subject to applicable law, using the contact address below. We cannot retrieve or delete learning information held only on your device.

This website

The Pound the Rock website provides information about the company and its products. It does not offer user accounts, on-site payments, advertising, or intentionally deployed visitor analytics or tracking tools. Standard website hosting infrastructure may process technical information such as IP addresses, request times and browser information to deliver the site and protect its operation. If you email us, we receive the details you choose to share and use them to respond.
